Connect to experts and explore Alberta’s incredible palaeontology through interactive and educational programming!
.All that is necessary is a high-speed internet connection, webcam, and microphone—no special hardware required.

Using our state-of-the-art Distance Learning studio, we offer programs suitable for schools, homeschool students, and public sites. We also provide complimentary information sessions for fellow teachers and educators, who want to learn more about what we offer. Initially launched in 2006, we have connected to over 57,000 participants in 2,200 programs to Canada, the United States, and around the world!

Royal Tyrrell Museum Virtual Visit​

Take a tour of the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology without leaving your classroom! During this interactive virtual visit, we’ll guide you through our world-renowned galleries and exhibits. Marvel at creatures from ancient seas, explore Dinosaur Hall, and discover how life carried on after the asteroid impact that marked the end of the Age of Dinosaurs.

Up Close and Palaeo Jr. 

Our Q&A program! A Science Educator will first introduce your students to the science of palaeontology. The remainder of the program is driven by your class! Formulate questions directly related to your curriculum, or watch as your students are inspired by each other’s curiosity. Discovering Dinosaurs

Explore the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology’s world-famous Dinosaur Hall! This tour introduces young participants to the science of palaeontology and to different dinosaurs that lived in ancient Alberta. Each stop explores a different curriculum concept like carnivores and herbivores, predators and prey, or plants and the ancient environment. After the tour there will be lots of time for questions with our dinosaur experts!
